Long Post - Buckle Up

So, I’m at work right now, and I’m making the old lady I’m sitting with watch I Love the 80’s. I’m thinking about occasionally just adding into this post the things that they are discussing. For example, John Mayer measured h9is penis with the ruler on his Trapper Keeper. They’ve also recently discussed monster truck rallies and Atari. Amazingly, since I’ve started watching this, they’ve probably covered 10-15 topics, but I am unable to recall anymore than what I have just relayed.

So, here’s my current situation. I can’t sleep. Macguyver (sp?). I’ve been in nursing school for a year and three months, give a take a week or so. About two months into nursing school, I noticed that there was this really cute guy in nursing school, too. I was still pretty damaged at this point, Dungeons and Dragons, so I did not even pretend to think about him. He was cute, but inconsequential. I also had clinicals with him that semester. Found out he was really quiet, but likable. Started talking to him in class, but still, not interested.

In the fall, I came back for Level 2 of nursing. I ended up sitting in front of him. Actually, I sat in the “guys” section. Since there are so few of them, they tend to group. I’m pretty sick of girls, so I tend to migrate towards the boys. Anyhoo, I find out that over the summer, he had started dating this girl from Level 1 who I kind of detested. Teen Wolf. She also failed, so I don’t have to deal with her anymore, but she was a user. Anderson Cooper is SO hot. I thought to my self, “That’s too bad. He’s too nice a guy to be with her,” and kind of just moved on. However, I had clinicals with him again, and really got to know him and really got to where I liked him and really disliked the fact that he was with Golden Corral, the nickname I have secretly given his girlfriend.

Fastforward to Level 3, Golden Corral failed Level 1 again because she’s real stupid and unfocused (that’s a little harsh, I know), so she starts going to another school, Grey Poupon, but sadly, he actually lives in that town, so she gets her claws in a little deeper.

We are not in the same clinical group, but we sit beside each other now. Pretty much every day, we write notes back and forth. The notes are about whatever we are thinking about, but are rarely class-related. A couple of weeks ago, I thought to myself, “I wonder what would happen if I started flirting with him via note.” So I did. I was pretty surprised by the response. Which was VERY positive. Valley Girl.

There’s more to the story, but before I go on, I would like it if you told me what you think so far.

Sometimes, I get a little irate when reading status updates on Facebook. I have different political views from most people from my area, so I am exposed to a LOT of opinions that differ from mine. That doesn't bother me. Different opinions are good because the lead to debate and change, or at least they can. However, a lot of the statements I read are not really constructive, in any way. So, here is my list of things about Americans.

An American:
1. can be born or naturalized. Calling some people "real" Americans is pretty insulting to all other Americans.
2. is not required to pledge allegiance or salute the flag. If someone does not do this, it does not make then un-American or unpatriotic.
3. can live anywhere on the planet, except maybe Cuba and North Korea. I'm not sure if Americans are allowed there. Choosing to live outside of the 50 states, for whatever reason, is okay.
4. is allowed to criticize the government. I can totally appreciate that. I sure bashed on Bush for being a gigantic idiot. What I can't get behind, and this is why I just had to write something, is for so many people to pretend like everything going wrong started the day the Democrats took office. I can agree that the change I was looking for hasn't happened yet, but a lot of things are better than they were a year ago. Also, Obama won the election. He is and will be the president for the next three years. Is pissing and moaning really making those folks happy? I want to put another sentence here but instead I think I'll just pass gas. There.
5. cannot see Russia from his/her yard unless they do not live in the United States.
6. has a lot of rights and should not be called names when he/she chooses to invoke them.
7. shouldn't get to break the rules without consequences, but sometimes he does. I don't know what to tell you about this. That's why other countries don't like us.

I was going for 10, but I'll have to look at my Facebook to get worked up a little more, and then I'll be back.
